Connection

The Bolin R9 connects over IP on a standard Ethernet network. The RCP must be on the same subnet as the camera.

Bolin provides a discovery tool to help locate and configure the camera on the network. Ensure the camera's IP address is reachable by the RCP — see this page for more information about IP configuration.

Configuration

Camera Configuration

Configure the camera's IP address so it is reachable from the RCP. Use Bolin's discovery tool or the camera's built-in web interface to assign a static IP address on the same subnet as the RCP.

Enable tally if required: in the camera menu, set SYSTEM > TALLY MODE to ON.

RCP Configuration

Add the camera as an IP camera. Use brand Bolin and model R9, then enter the camera IP address.

Operations

The Anxinshi PTZ Joystick can provide a more convenient user interface than the RCP touchscreen for pan, tilt, zoom, and preset recall.

The Elgato Stream Deck can be used to recall PTZ presets.

Troubleshooting

Camera icon stays RED / camera not detected

Check in this order:

  1. Verify camera IP address — confirm the camera has a valid static IP reachable from the RCP (see Camera Configuration above).
  2. Use Bolin's discovery tool — run the Bolin discovery tool from a computer on the same network to confirm the camera is visible.
  3. Ping the camera from a computer — set the computer to the same IP range and ping the camera IP to confirm basic network connectivity.
  4. Ping the RCP from the same computer — confirms the RCP and camera are on the same subnet.
  5. Check the RCP IP — the RCP must have an IP address in the same range as the camera. Follow this guide.
  6. Power cycle — restart the camera and retry.
  7. Check the cable — try a different Ethernet cable or port on the switch.

A specific parameter is not controllable

  • Check the Supported Controls table above — some controls may not yet be available for the Bolin R9.
  • Confirm the camera is not in a mode that locks the parameter (e.g. White Balance gains are only available when WB Mode is set to "User").
  • Check the latest RCP firmware release notes for Bolin R9 support updates.

Tally not working

  • Confirm SYSTEM > TALLY MODE is set to ON in the camera menu.

Pan, tilt, or zoom not responding

  • Confirm the camera is not locked via its physical lock switch (if applicable).
  • Verify PTZ presets and speed settings are correctly configured on the RCP.
